I survived! Reflections of my first A to Z challenge

Well hello again people! I have had over a week off from blogging after the hectic month of April and participating in the blogging from A to Z April challenge   I can proudly say I survived it.  I have to say there were a couple of touch and go moments where I thought I might just have to give it all up but I couldn't, I had to make sure I stuck with it to the bitter end.

So we've made it to the last day of the blogging from A to Z April challenge.  As fun as it has been I'm kind of glad it's all over as it's quite a task writing posts for everyday with all the other boring responsibilities of life, working full time, housework (this may have slipped a little in the past month) and Maid of Honor duties of organizing Hen nights. 

Blogging from A to Z, W is for wonder and lots of fabulous children's programmes

Wonder, oh the wonder of the world as a child, discovering new and amazing things.  I see that with my friends children (can't remember much myself).  The simple joy of them learning something new, tying their shoelaces for the first time.  Learning to ride a bike, believing in Father Christmas.  There are so many wondrous things for children to discover and learn.   I can't say I remember the first time I learnt to ride a bike or tie my shoelaces.   I was thinking about this the other day and looking at myself now and then thinking back to being a child and how much children have to learn, ok now this may sound a little sad or odd, I don't know but when I think about it it amazes me.

Blogging from A to Z, R is for Roald Dahl and rubber collections.

R is for Roald Dahl, one of the most popular children's authors and definitely one of my favourite authors.  There is even a Roald Dahl Day which is held every year on September 13th, his actual birthday.    I loved so many if not all of his books.  With his wonderful style of writing, fascinating characters you could warm too and great humour.  There were so many of his books that I loved but here are 6 of my favourite.

Blogging from A to Z, O is for Oh dear, Oh wise one and Origami

Oh dear indeed.  I've hit a wall! I've tried and tried and I can not for the life of me think of memories beginning with O! The only thing I remembered was origami fortune tellers.  Did you ever make them?

Blogging from a to Z. L is for love, loss, libraries and lacrosse...

 

L is love, loss, libraries and lacrosse. Now that's an odd selection isn't it?  So what have I got to say about love? Well firstly I being overly generous using the word love, you see I'm talking about my first boyfriend. I was 15 and there was a group of us who use to hang around together.  We'll call said boyfriend Bob for the purpose of this post.  Bob was a sweet lad but I don't think I actually liked him in a boyfriend sense but I kind of wanted a boyfriend as you do so said yes when he asked me out.  It was more a case of a bunch of friends that use to hang out and a few of us had paired up as boyfriends and girlfriends.

We're on letter K today.  Through my A to Z posts I hope you are getting to know me a little bit better although it's the slightly mad side of my childhood I'm telling you about so I hope you don't think I'm to strange...  So K is for Kate, yep that's me.  So a few random facts about me.

Blogging from A to Z Challenge, J is for Junior school

J is for Junior school.  Now this is really testing the old noggin, recalling memories from Junior school and I can't remember that much from it but there are a couple of silly little things.  I remember my friend Lisa and I catching a newt (we use to love doing things like that) and we were allowed to put it in the large box/tank that we had in the classroom and it proceeded to eat the frog spawn that one of the other kids had put in there.  He was mighty upset.

I've ummed and ahhed, had a few panics but the wheels are now in motion, I'm going for it! (I suppose it would have been a little late in the day to pull out since the A to Z  blogging challenge starts on Monday!)
