A to Z Challenge, A is for Arlee Bird, Anne and Aristocats

The first thing I'd like to say is a big thank you to Arlee Bird for starting this challenge.  It's a mighty impressive feat to get so many bloggers to come together.  This is my first year and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. I raise a glass to you cheers!

On with my post, in 1985 a literary classic captured my heart,  Anne of Green Gables I'm afraid it wasn't the classic novel (confession - I've never read it) but the TV series  which caught my attention and I loved it.  Since it was published in 1908, Anne of Green Gables and its sequels by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery have been loved by many.  What appealed to me was not only Anne's story but Anne herself.  She was a feisty, spirited young girl, a little bit on the quirky side who as a young girl myself I found an intriguing and lovable character.

My second memory is a little different, this time it's a classic Disney movie, The Aristocats.  It was released in 1970, a whole 7 years before I was born but as with any Disney movie, love them or hate them, they are ageless.  Kids born today will  at some point watch movies that were originally made many years before they were born (all be it new a digital remastered DVDs).

I loved this film until one night I had a weird dream about it which freaked me out at the tender age of 3 or 4. I couldn't tell you if I'd watch the movie earlier that day but the dream was a vivid one.  I say a dream, at the time I truly thought it was real and the aristocats were parading around my bedroom, having hijinks.  Ok that might sound a little odd, I'm not honestly... I was only little and to a wee lass it was scary.

Here's the clip of the very scary aristocats which was similar to what the cats were doing in my dream

Thanks for taking your time to visit, see you all tomorrow (I hope) for some more reminiscing. Now time for me to check out lots of lovely posts.

  7. wow that was great! what an awesome dream. I am personally prone to nightmares but I absolutely love the scene you posted above so I doubt it would give me one. It is strange what our minds hang on to and make vivid while we sleep. If you love disney check out my blog, also part of the challenge.
