In your love is my strength

This week Hubby and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary. We got married on the 1st November 2008 at Bookham Grange Hotel. The weather was atrocious, torrential rain, even a bit of flooding on the local roads but that didn't spoil our day, it was a wonderful occasion we shared with our friends and family, most of which stayed at the hotel with us. We choose Bookham Grange because it was a small hotel which meant we would be the only ones there and we wouldn't have to share our day with other couples getting married. Well it was all suppose to be about me I mean Hubby and I.

The happy couple.
Hubby and I booked Thursday and Friday off so we could have a long weekend off together.  Unfortunately things all went wrong and the plans we made kind of went to pot. Although we did managed to salvage some of our days off. A week ago I was on the way home from work and my car broke down. I called out the recovery company who unfortunately gave me some bad advice and told me it was safe to drive my car home even though the fan (drive) belt needed repairing.  So what should of been a fairly simple repair (well as simple as Chryslers get) has ended up being a significantly more costly problem.   So due to the poor advice of the recovery company I have ended up with a car that has been off the road for over a week. They are liable for the extra damage that was done to my poor car but I have to say it was a right battle to get them to organise a courtesy car for us. So Thursday our first day off was wasted trying to sort the car out. After lots of hassling on my part I managed to get the company to arrange a courtesy car for us on Friday.

Friday finally got to do some fun stuff.  We initially headed off to Tunbridge wells to The Enchanted Forest at Groombridge Place Gardens but we arrived there and then decided to go somewhere else as we'd forgotten it was half-term and I wasn't about to fight kids to go on the giant swing and other fun stuff there! Here's some pictures of the Enchanted Forest.

Looks like fun doesn't it these are pictures from their website. http://www.groombridge.co.uk/enchanted.htm

Now that may sound a bit miserable but I'm afraid Hubby and I would rather go there when it's quieter and the kids are back at school.  Since we have none of our own we might as well enjoy the luxury of the tranquillity of the countryside without the shrill screaming of children (if we had our own it would be a different story and it would be wonderful to hear they're joyous laughter echoing through the forest).

We both love to find random interesting places to stop at on our travels. On Friday we found a lovely little tearooms at Perryhill Orchard Farm shop.  It was really lovely, the kitchen in the tea rooms was just like a kitchen in someones house, very quaint.

We then had a little wander around Edenbridge, which is a small but pretty village in Kent.

Lastly I'll leave you with a little poem.  We used this on our order of ceremony.

Happy anniversary to my wonderful Husband.  Life has taken some interesting turns for us but I am grateful  that at each one you were with me by my side.  Each time life tests us, together we show how strong we are.   In your love is my strength.

  10. Happy Anniversary and many to come. Your photos are beautiful. Cars can be a pain but also the way to an adventure. I taught in Australia for three and a half years. Loved seeing the word recognise versus recognize. Someday I hope to visit Kent and other wonderful spots. Enjoy your SITS Day.

  11. I always remind people that are getting married that it's not about the wedding' it's about the marriage. It's good that you could take the little snafus in stride and get on about your day. :)
