In my first post of my 'Spruce up your blog'series I told you about how I updated my blog template, which I totally love! Today I'm going to talk about how I added my own touch to the design by adding a different blog header.

I survived! Reflections of my first A to Z challenge

Well hello again people! I have had over a week off from blogging after the hectic month of April and participating in the blogging from A to Z April challenge   I can proudly say I survived it.  I have to say there were a couple of touch and go moments where I thought I might just have to give it all up but I couldn't, I had to make sure I stuck with it to the bitter end.

Oh what a day! Ventured to Morrisons to do Our Christmas shop and it was CRAZY!!!!!! Kind of all done now, although nearly had a heart attack when I saw how much the bill came to! We may have got a little carried away (as per normal) and now have stacks of food.  Anyone would think we're cooking for 10 people (only 4 Christmas day, 5 including pooch)  I tell you what though, I just love to have so much choice of food in our cupboards and fridge!  It's great!

How to add an email me widget to blog.

I have recently discovered a superb website and blog which has some fabulous freebies to use on your own blog, for scrapbooking or anything creative you want to do.  It's by a very talented lady called Cathe (pronounced Cathy) her website and blog is http://justsomethingimade.com/. She is a graphic designer, creative blogger, and flea market enthusiast.  This leads me to today's 'How to' post.

How to make your own blog button

Time for another 'How to' post.  A good friend and fellow blogger asked me recently about how I made my blog button.  When you first look at something to do with blog design or making something for your blog at first glance you might thing 'I'll never be able to do that' but that's where you're wrong!  If I can do it then anyone can!  I can't remember where I learnt to do this originally but I do remember looking through lots of posts trying to find the easiest way of doing it and some I originally tried but didn't work for me.  So here's my tutorial to explain how I did it and why you may want to have your own blog button.

This is the first of my 'How To' posts.  As I do more you will be able to find them under the label How To.  Hope it's helpful.

Take a peek to your right and just slightly down and you will see my recent comment widget, I've called it Awesome comments, Awesome people.  I love this widget, it's a great addition for your sidebar.  It displays 5 of the most recent comments on your blog.  I found this widget on Aumkar Thakur's blog,  lordhtmol.  This is a really simple one to start with, just click on the link to www.lordhtml.blogspot.co.uk and follow his instructions.  He's made it extra easy and rather then having to copy and past the html you just have to click on the add to blogger button and it's all done for you! (I think he has a code for wordpress people so check his blog to see).
