Boxy make-up bag and slim pencil case

I've been at it again, I didn't think I had enough of them so made myself a couple more zipper pouches! Actually I keep making the same thing to practice and try and perfect the skills that I am learning.

I made myself the cutest slim pencil case and also a boxy make-up pouch, both of which I will be making lots of use of.

I don't think the pictures do them justice, the colours of both the fabrics are so gorgeous!

This is the boxy pouch. Overall I'm pleased with how it turned out but I didn't plan the position of the deer head properly and it could do with being a bit higher up. Thankfully you can still see it.

How gorgeous is this fabric! I just love it. As per usual my photos aren't the best, I really need to learn how to take better photos and  sort out a better set up for taking them, a decent camera would also help

This boxy make-up pouch is really easy to do and if zippers scare you then this is a good option. I used the following tutorial by Style Novice which I found on good old You Tube. It really is a brilliant tutorial and so simple to do.

Here's the link to my first ever zipper pouch I made which was actually my first sewing project! There are links to some great tutorials for making pouches too, Zipper pouch.

I know it's kind of boring to keep making the same things but practice is important and I feel its paying off as my zip was much better this time. Oh and I just love this pencil case, a simple design but I think it looks really cute. I love the little charm I attached to the zip which says handmade with love, I bought a bag of these for a couple of quid.

  11. I am always in the market for a new little makeup bag, I run through them like no one's business! The size you made is perfect for travel or a weekend away. I think it would be nice to make a few, and sort my makeup by pallet color so it would be easy to trap whichever one I needed to complement my wardrobe on any given weekend getaway.

  12. Those are pretty cute, great work :) I'm not crafty so I think it is cool when others can make cool things and have them look like what they actually meant them to look like.

  21. I love easy sewing projects. They are what I am best at, actually! :-) The easy stuff doesn't bore me, ever, because fabrics and patterns are such fun... (I'm late on my commenting - my daughter has been sick at home and everything has been dicey!) #sitsblogging
