I've been at it again, I didn't think I had enough of them so made myself a couple more zipper pouches! Actually I keep making the same thing to practice and try and perfect the skills that I am learning.
I made myself the cutest slim pencil case and also a boxy make-up pouch, both of which I will be making lots of use of.
I don't think the pictures do them justice, the colours of both the fabrics are so gorgeous!
How gorgeous is this fabric! I just love it. As per usual my photos aren't the best, I really need to learn how to take better photos and sort out a better set up for taking them, a decent camera would also help
This boxy make-up pouch is really easy to do and if zippers scare you then this is a good option. I used the following tutorial by Style Novice which I found on good old You Tube. It really is a brilliant tutorial and so simple to do.
Here's the link to my first ever zipper pouch I made which was actually my first sewing project! There are links to some great tutorials for making pouches too, Zipper pouch.
I know it's kind of boring to keep making the same things but practice is important and I feel its paying off as my zip was much better this time. Oh and I just love this pencil case, a simple design but I think it looks really cute. I love the little charm I attached to the zip which says handmade with love, I bought a bag of these for a couple of quid.

DeleteThat is great! I don't currently have a sewing machine even, but someday I want to learn how to sew and do some projects like this :)
ReplyDeleteI really recommend getting one. I'm still learning but love it!
DeleteI think this is so cute! I love the fabric of the blue one with the spots! The dog on it is adorable <3 I agree with you, practice makes perfect and we cannot master everything the first time we try it! Visiting from SITS Comment Love Tribe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Kelly! :)
DeleteYou're getting so good at these.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, I keep on practicing ;)
DeleteNice project! Fun!
ReplyDeletethank you :)
DeleteCute projects! I don't think it's boring to do the same project over and over again because there are so many fun patterns you can use, so each one can be different and fun! :)
ReplyDeleteVery true, you can;t have too many cute pouches ;)
DeleteLove the deer print fabric! I want to start sewing again and have been toying with the idea of getting a new sewing machine. It's so therapeutic and you can create one of kind pieces. Visiting from SITS.
ReplyDeleteIt's cute isn't it. I find it therapeutic apart from when it goes wrong and I get frustrated ;)
DeleteI recommend getting one again!
Thanks for this! The make up bag looks super cute and surprisingly simple to make
ReplyDeleteIt's really simple to do and you great results, I'm so happy with how they both turned out but I love the bigger pouch.
DeleteThis is the cutest thing!! In the past year or so I've really been discovering my youngest daughter's art/crafty side. So this is really great. I hope I can try this with her. Stopping by from #SITSblogging
ReplyDeleteOh do, great projects to do! I like you tube to teach you how to do things, really helpful.
DeleteI think they are adorable. I can think of a bunch of uses for these and if someone would ever nap, I bet I could get one done. :)
ReplyDeleteComing by from the SITS Comment Love tribe!
Ah thank you. Not having children does mean I can indulge myself with my hobbies ;)
DeleteI am always in the market for a new little makeup bag, I run through them like no one's business! The size you made is perfect for travel or a weekend away. I think it would be nice to make a few, and sort my makeup by pallet color so it would be easy to trap whichever one I needed to complement my wardrobe on any given weekend getaway.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great size, I want to do some more in different sizes.Great idea to have an assortment of colours ;)
DeleteThose are pretty cute, great work :) I'm not crafty so I think it is cool when others can make cool things and have them look like what they actually meant them to look like.

ReplyDeleteThank you, pleased to have inspired you to get sewing!
DeleteI love easy sewing projects. They are what I am best at, actually! :-) The easy stuff doesn't bore me, ever, because fabrics and patterns are such fun... (I'm late on my commenting - my daughter has been sick at home and everything has been dicey!) #sitsblogging
ReplyDeleteI have to say I pick mainly easy stuff to sew but once I feel more confident I've got some harder projects lined up ;)
DeleteHope your daughter is ok now.
I have not a sewing gene in my body, but a lovely idea. #sitsblogging
